Laura + Robbie are childhood sweethearts who have been together since they were 11 years old. After 17 years together, believe me when I say they are still in the honeymoon phase. They are so naturally affectionate with each other and you can just see how much they are truly soulmates. The whole day was wrapped in nostalgia, laughs, and sentiment. They wrote each other letters and Laura read out a poem that 12 year old Robbie had written her as part of her speech. The rest of the day was so lovely and relaxed, surrounded by their closest family and friends. We ended the night by jumping on the bed - reliving their childhood and being authentically themselves - fun. carefree. in love.
I don’t usually choose songs with vocals/singing in them as it can sometimes take away from the narrative of the film, but the song I used for their teaser was just perfect for them. The lyrics “I rise a child again, wake up a wild wind, take me there” really summed up their relationship, almost like it was made just for them and their special film.
A day I absolutely adored and feel so privileged to have been part of.
